How will puberty affect your life: Mood Swings
Sometimes, all these changes and the hormones that cause them can make you feel moody or worried. You might even feel like your mood is changing all the time. All the new changes in your body may also make you feel embarrassed or shy about your new body. Because of this, you might:
- Feel happy one moment and upset the next
- Cry more easily or feel extra sensitive
- Get frustrated with your friends or family for no clear reason

These feelings are normal, but they can feel overwhelming. Here are some ways to manage them:
- Talk about it with a trusted adult or friend
- Write in a journal (diary) to understand what you’re feeling
- Exercise or go for a walk to release tension
- Practice calming activities like drawing, listening to music, or deep breathing
- Get enough sleep and eat regularly—this really helps your mood!
Remember that everyone experiences these changes and the mood swings that come with them at some point in their life! With time, they will become less intense, and you will also learn how to manage them in a way that’s right for you.
