Bodily changes during puberty: Hair Growth, Body Growth, Odors, and Acne

There are also many other bodily changes you will experience during puberty.

  • You will grow taller, sometimes very quickly.
  • You will get dark hair under your arms, on your legs, and around your vulva.
  • Your body may become curvier as fatty tissue is distributed differently.
  • You will start to sweat more and may notice new body odors.
  • Your skin will produce more oil.
  • You may see pimples or acne appear on your face.

All of these changes are normal and nothing to feel ashamed of!

Everyone’s body changes a little differently during puberty, so don’t worry if you don’t experience all these changes when your friends do. Remember, these are all signs that your body is preparing you to be a healthy adult and they are nothing to be ashamed about.

As your body changes, it’s also important to maintain good hygiene by showering regularly, washing your face, and wearing clean clothes.
